Shared Cooperative Services

Shared Cooperative Services is the LSCU & Affiliates subsidiary for shared branching with 83 participating credit unions operating 350 outlets. Shared Cooperative Services is the state network for Alabama and Georgia and is part of the national network, CO-OP Shared Branch.

When your credit unions joins the shared branching system, your members have access to more credit union locations than customers who belong to the “big banks”! With more than 5,600 Shared Branch locations, members will feel right at home when they visit participating credit unions in all 50 states. This is truly easy access to their money wherever they go.

Alan Babcock is the VP, Strategic Partnerships for the LEVERAGE Shared Cooperative Services Team, joining the team two years ago.

Alan is a proud a graduate of Lawrence Insitute of Technology and Central Michigan University with more than 35 years of experience in the credit union industry.

What’s your favorite hobby? Woodworking

Where is your favorite place you’ve traveled? Backpacking in the Smokey Mountains

Laura Vann is the Senior Director, Shared Branching for the LEVERAGE Shared Cooperative Services Team. She has more than four years with the Shared Cooperative Services Team but has been with the League of Southeastern Credit Unions and Affiliates for more than 20!

Laura is a proud a graduate of The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with more than 30 years of experience in business development and marketing.

Getting to Know Laura Heard

Laura Heard is the Operations Specialist for the LEVERAGE Shared Cooperative Services Team and Leverage Payment Solutions. Laura has been a part of the LEVERAGE Shared Cooperative Services Team for 3 years, but has been with LSCU for 7.

She’s a proud a graduate of The University of Georgia with more than 7 years of experience in working with credit unions.

Which office do you work out of? Remote from Georgia

What’s your favorite hobby? Boating, reading, attending Auburn football and basketball games, and having fun with my three grandchildren!

Where is your favorite place you’ve traveled? There are several, but traveling by plane, train, and automobile to Niagara Falls Canada with the kids stands out for many reasons

Best marketing advice to credit unions for 2021? Be proactive, not reactive, and willing to consider new ways of serving your members in these quickly changing times

Credit Union Loan Source (CULS) is a full-service indirect auto finance company based in metro Atlanta, Georgia. CULS offers financing through a network of more than 800 dealers across 16 states. CULS' serviced portfolio surpassed $2 billion in 2020 and continues to grow!

The LEVERAGE Team was out in full force at the annual Southeast Credit Union Conference and Expo earlier this month!

This year, there were a lot of "firsts" for SCUCE, including a new venue, the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek in Orlando, Florida.
